    For a long time, I am looking for a replacement for the obsolete Google-Maps-GPX-Viewer plugin. Now I’m testing your WordPress OpenStreetMap Plugin. Looks great so far.

    For one of my websites that display multiple Garmin GPX tracks with only one marker for each track I was able to hard-code a custom marker by altering the osm-sc-osm-map_v3.php file.

    However for one of my other sites I need to display up to four different custom markers depending on the marker name in the XML sym tag.

    The Garmin XML looks for example like:

    <wpt lat=”55.828837156295776″ lon=”8.764625072479248″>
    <ele>133</ele>
    <time>2014-05-04T05:39:27Z</time>
    <name>xxxx</name>
    <cmt>xxxx</cmt>
    <desc>xxxx</desc>
    <link href=”xxxx”/>
    <sym>Bank</sym>
    <extensions>
    <gpxx:WaypointExtension xmlns:gpxx=”http://www.garmin.com/xmlschemas/GpxExtensions/v3″>
    <gpxx:DisplayMode>SymbolAndName</gpxx:DisplayMode>
    </gpxx:WaypointExtension>
    </extensions>
    </wpt>

    Depending on the marker used in Garmin MapSource the sym tag in the GPX file can be something like:

    <sym>Trail Head</sym>
    <sym>Bank</sym>
    <sym>Flag, red</sym>
    <sym>Flag, blue</sym>

    Does the WordPress OpenStreetMap Plugin read the sym tag and if so how can I get it’s value and redirect it to the corresponding custom icon?

    Thanks in advance.
